Objective
How resilient are urban societies to disasters like earthquakes? Three systems enabling forecasting, warning and response are vital – the operational earthquake forecasting (OEF), earthquake early warning (EEW) and the rapid response to earthquakes (RRE) system. To ensure flexibility and accuracy, all three must act together. The EU-funded TURNkey project will develop an easy and low-cost platform in the cloud with all three systems. This will help public authorities and companies to minimise loses in case of an earthquake. It will be demonstrated and tested in six European cities affected by high seismic activity. The project will be backed by a team of multidisciplinary experts from 10 EU Member States.
